Date Night Knoxville to feature New York Times bestselling author, along with former lead singer of Newsong

Special one-night event to benefit Knoxville-based marriage ministry

Knoxville, Tenn. – Whether it’s going out to dinner and a movie, having a picnic in a nearby park or roller skating at the local rink, married couples are finding creative ways to devote much needed one-on-one time to one another. Building on this, Forever Families, a local marriage ministry, has created Date Night Knoxville, a special one-night event, set to take place on Friday, August 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church.

The event will feature Dr. Gary Chapman, author of The Five Love Languages, a New York Times bestseller, and Michael O’Brien, former lead singer of the popular Christian band, Newsong.

The event is designed to equip and encourage married couples with a fun, engaging evening of music, comedy and inspiration. Michael O’Brien will open the evening with his humor and compelling music, while also sharing his story of why exactly he stepped down as the lead singer of Newsong during the height of the band’s popularity.

Michael will be followed by popular marriage humorists and teachers, Jeff and Debby McElroy. As founders of Forever Families and a couple who travels around the globe speaking on marriage and family issues, the McElroys are known for their comedic approach, while also delivering relatable, thought-provoking messages.

Dr. Chapman will round out the evening, delivering a message with the wit and wisdom that has made him so popular worldwide. While he has authored a number of books, The 5 Love Languages has sold more copies than any other marriage book in the world. More than 8 million copies have been sold, and it has been translated into 49 languages.

Proceeds from the evening will go to the various marriage and family ministries of Forever Families, Inc., including their crisis marriage ministries targeted to military and first responder couples, which suffer a 76% divorce rate.

“We’re excited and honored to have both Gary and Michael in town for our first ever Date Night Knoxville event,” says Forever Families founder, Jeff McElroy. “We’d like to encourage all engaged and married couples to join us August 1 for a truly meaningful and impactful date night.”

Ticket prices are $15 per person or only $25 per couple. Seating is general admission, with some limited VIP reserved seating for $35 per couple. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with the program beginning at 7:00 p.m.
