Knoxville, Tenn. – Today, M. Gibson Hotels announced its purchase of two West Knoxville hotel properties, the Hampton Inn Cedar Bluff – West and the Holiday Inn Cedar Bluff – West, and unveiled plans for the properties to undergo multi-million dollar improvements set to begin October 2013 and be completed by October 2014.

According to Michael Gibson, founder and chief executive officer of M. Gibson Hotel Management, Inc., the purchase adds 400 rooms and 125 employees to the M. Gibson Hotels brand.

Gibson says the renovations will bring $4 to $5 million in improvements to the 225-room Holiday Inn and the 175-room Hampton Inn. Combined, the properties have approximately 7,400 square feet of meeting space.

“Included in the interior upgrades and renovations will be newly appointed guest rooms,  redesigned meeting space and catering rooms, and the creation of two indoor basketball courts inside the Holiday Inn along with the addition of a new bar and grill concept,” said Gibson.

Additional changes will include new exterior designs including a new pool courtyard.

“We are excited to add these local brands into our area,” said Gibson.  “Eleven hotel properties in East Tennessee are owned and managed by M. Gibson Hotels.”
