ORNL FCU’s first Small Business Counts Cash Mob of 2014 slated for The Treasure Chest Boutique in Lenoir City

After nine highly successful cash mobs in 2013, ORNL Federal Credit Union is continuing its growing Small Business Counts Cash Mob program with its first event of 2014 at The Treasure Chest Boutique within Livewell Pharmacy in Lenoir City. The cash mob event is scheduled for Thursday, January 16th and will be the first Loudon County cash mob since the program was launched in late July of last year.

Owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Keith and Suzanne Alleman, The Treasure Chest Boutique was first started by the duo as a way to “entertain” customers who were simply waiting for a prescription to be filled. However, because of Suzanne’s flair for interior design and impeccable taste for home staging and apparel, the business quickly took on a life of its own. In fact, The Treasure Chest Boutique now occupies nearly half of the retail space within Livewell Pharmacy and has expanded its selection to include a wide variety of home décor items and accents, handbags, shoes, women’s apparel, and locally made gifts from a number of consigners. The store and pharmacy are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. After hours parties and events can also be arranged.

At the cash mob event, the first 30 people will receive a $20 gift card to use within the store, courtesy of ORNL Federal Credit Union. Limit one per family or couple. Other special offers will also be available this night only.

The Small Business Counts Cash Mob program was created in July 2013 as a way to recognize and show support for local merchants, like The Treasure Chest Boutique, in the 16 counties that ORNL FCU serves by encouraging people to shop locally during a given date and time. The program includes the promotion and support of one or two local businesses each month and will continue throughout 2014.

For more information about the Small Business Counts program or to nominate a local merchant, supporters can visit www.SmallBusinessCounts.com. There is no requirement for the business to be a member of ORNL Federal Credit Union to be selected for a cash mob. Details of future cash mobs are made available approximately one week in advance of each event.
