Charting the Future.The Utility Variable-Generation Integration Group (UVIG) is the leading source of global expertise for wind and solar operations and power system integration. After twenty-five years of successful operations, this association for power system professionals decided their brand needed to be updated and refreshed. Ackermann began the rebranding process by conducting an in-depth member survey. Informed by the survey results, Ackermann worked with the UVIG Marketing Committee to develop a strategic marketing and communications plan. The strategic planning process defined a series of strategies for implementation that included: redefining the UVIG brand and message platforms, creating and building greater industry awareness, developing a sustainable member engagement and retention program, and implementation of a proactive new member marketing program. Over the first twelve months of the rebranding program, UVIG experienced record meeting and workshop attendance, broad industry participation in the new webinar programs, and significant growth in website and social media platform users and followers.
