Sevierville to Receive “Bump” from Elite Volleyball Tourneys

Sevierville, Tenn. – More than 350 girls’ volleyball teams from Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Kentucky, including 18,000 players, family members and spectators, will call Sevierville home over the next two weekends, as K2 Volleyball Club and the Sevierville Convention Center play host to two of the largest amateur volleyball tournaments in the Southeast.

This weekend, January 25-26, the third annual K2 Elite Invitational will feature more than 130 teams filled with players aged 12-18, while more than 220 teams will compete in the K2 Wilderness at the Smokies Tournament the following weekend. Each unique event will include up to 21 courts of simultaneous play inside the spacious Sevierville Convention Center, making it a convenient venue for attendees and a recruiting hot spot for college scouts across the country.

“We’re thrilled to be working with K2 Volleyball Club for a third consecutive year in bringing their prestigious amateur volleyball tournaments to Sevierville,” said David Bobo, Director of Sevierville Convention Center. “Large events like these give us an opportunity to show off all of the wonderful accommodations that Sevierville has to offer, and each one has a positive economic impact on our area, especially during what is typically a slower time of the year.”

In addition to these popular early season tournaments, K2 Volleyball Club and the Sevierville Convention Center will also host another tournament on May 10-11 called Summer Blast, which will once again feature some of the South’s rising, young volleyball stars. Tournament information and details will be made available soon.

“As a tournament organizer, Sevierville offers everything you could want, from its first-class facilities to its quality accommodations and numerous year-round activities,” said Christine Hames, K2 Volleyball Club Director. “Our teams love coming to the Sevierville area, and it shows in the growth of the K2 tournaments over the last three years. The popularity and feedback has been so great that we’re looking at adding a third early season tournament next year.”
