ETMG Hosts Free Varicose Vein Screening Aug. 23

ALCOA, Tenn. – East Tennessee Medical Group will hold free varicose vein screenings on Thursday, August 23 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the ETMG community room, 266 Joule St., Alcoa. Screenings are free and open to the public, with no appointment necessary.

More than 40 million people in the U.S. have varicose veins. Symptoms in the legs and ankles may include: rope-like bulging just beneath the skin, swelling, itching or burning, pain or tiredness, throbbing or cramping at night, and/or a rash or sore.

Early detection and treatment are key to a successful course of therapy. Varicose veins can be treated in-office at East Tennessee Medical Group in about an hour using our state-of-the-art endovenous laser therapy, allowing patients to walk out of the office after the procedure. Treatment also allows for cosmetic improvements that most typically hide due to the symptoms caused by varicose veins.

East Tennessee Medical Group is a 45-provider multi-specialty medical group in Alcoa, serving Blount County for over 15 years. For the fourth consecutive year, ETMG has been recognized as the #1 Healthcare Facility in Blount County by The Daily Times Readers’ Choice Awards.
