Extraordinary event demands unparalleled space to showcase huge Titanic ship built by a 10-year-old boy from Iceland with autism
MEDIA ALERT:  Meet Brynjar Karl Bigisson during media conference at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 16 at Titanic Museum Attraction – Pigeon Forge. This event will be his only U.S. appearance with the RMS Titanic LEGO® replica.
Pigeon Forge, Tenn. – If you thought you’d seen it all at the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, get ready to doubt your eyes and catch your breath when you visit, explains the attraction’s owner, Mary Kellogg.
“What you’ll see is the world’s largest replica of the RMS Titanic built entirely from 56,000 LEGO® bricks,” announces Kellogg. “Making this unprecedented achievement even more amazing is that it was conceived and constructed by a 10-year-old, autistic boy from Iceland.”
According to Kellogg, Brynjar Karl Birgisson’s giant, 26-foot by 5-foot masterpiece will be anchored at the Titanic Museum Attraction throughout its 2018 season.
“The world calls him ‘LEGO® Boy’ and that’s just fine with Brynjar,” said Kellogg. “After all, he spent a good part of his young life surrounded by thousands of LEGO® bricks, the building blocks of his monumental tribute to the 2,208 men, women and children who sailed on the RMS Titanic.”
Kellogg explains that upon completion, Brynjar’s replica is the largest Titanic ship built with LEGO® bricks.
“We’re proud that the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge will be the first and only place in the United States where the Titanic LEGO® replica can be seen,” said Kellogg. “We’ve brought it all the way from Iceland to showcase as one of our major 2018 exhibits.”
Kellogg says this LEGO® masterpiece and touching story will be shared with the American public for the first time on Monday, April 16, 2018, during a media conference at 10 a.m. at the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge. Brynjar will be in attendance as well, his only United States appearance with the replica.
“I am very honored and happy that my project was an inspiration to so many others and also motivation to follow your own dreams,” said Brynjar.
According to Kellogg, with the help of his grandfather and mother, Brynjar has been able to accomplish such an amazing vision and share not only his LEGO® model of the Titanic, but also his journey of growth and perseverance.
“Although young Brynjar’s inspiring story has already generated wide, international attention, media coverage, a popular children’s book and applauded appearances on television as well as on TED TALK where he told his story in his own, unfaltering words, we’re happy to showcase his LEGO® replica masterpiece for the first time in the United States,” said Kellogg. “It will be inspiring to witness Brynjar seeing his LEGO® replica for the first time in the U.S. during his visit to Titanic Museum Attraction on April 18 and we look forward to helping him share his story with the media and the rest of the world.”
In addition, Kellogg explains Brynjar will continue to share his story with others by visiting students in schools across East Tennessee during his week-long visit in April.
